Situated near Vizhinjam Harbour, the beach is famed for its clear waters and rocky shoreline, which provides a splendidly stunning landscape. This makes the beach a great spot for water activities and sports including snorkelling and surfing. This is a shore that also gives you rare glimpses of the day-to-day lives of fishermen and their families. The Vizhinjam Port that is under construction in this area is an International Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport which is expected to become one of the largest and busiest of its kind in India. Another attraction that awaits you in Vizhinjam is the Sagarika Marine Research Aquarium where you can have glimpses of a number of marine species including angelfish, clown fish, seahorses, box fish, cowfish, eels, wrasses and so on. There is also a reef tank with an amazing assortment of corals.
