Valiathura Beach

Valiathura Beach is one of the most visited beaches in the district

What do you long for the most on a beach? Lying down lazily, being pampered by the lulling lullabies of Nature? Or engage in adventure sports, chasing down the vigour of the waves? Or even play beach sports and set up new challenges? No matter what you dream of, Valiathura Beach is the perfect spot to indulge in these. Located at a distance of 10 km from the city centre, Valiathura Beach is one of the most visited beaches in the district and also one of the hottest tourist attractions in Thiruvananthapuram today.

Famed for its serene and tranquil ambience, Valiathura Beach is a refreshing escape from the hustles of the city. Valiathura is primarily a fishing village with a busy harbour. At one point in history, it also hosted the only port on the southern coast of Kerala. The region is a good spot to be in, if you would love to see and know about the routine lives of fishermen, how they brave the seas and go about with their livelihood.

One of the most spectacular sights you will get to enjoy in this region is a 60-year-old 703 ft long pier that protrudes into the sea. It’s also a vantage point that lets you enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.
